Letter from the President

Thank you for joining us on our journey to create a brighter tomorrow for families in Oconee County. This newsletter is dedicated to keeping you informed, inspired, and connected to the work we do together. Whether you are a volunteer, donor, partner, or advocate, your support helps us turn hope into tangible progress.

At the midpoint of the year, we are completing the last of the five homes to be built in Walhalla. In January, we started working on homes in our new neighborhood in West Union. We currently have four homes under construction there. The infrastructure for this development is complete, except for final grading, which will take place in August. This has been made possible through the generous support of our community.

Our second annual Gala will take place on October 29 th . Information about this event is available elsewhere in this newsletter and on our website. We raised over $130,000 at last year’s event and are hoping for even more support this year. Please consider supporting this event with your time and financial resources. Every gift, large or small, fuels our mission.

This is our 39 th year of helping families in Oconee County build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. There has never been a greater need for affordable housing in Oconee. In addition to volunteering in the ReStore, with the Truck Crew picking up donations, or with Construction building homes, please consider volunteering to serve on a committee or the Board of Directors. Together we build a stronger community.
